THE importance of Melton’s markets and their continued growth in the town are being championed thanks to a national campaign.
Love Your Local Market campaign is in its second year and is running for a fortnight until next Wednesday (May 29).
The main aim of the campaign, which is supported by both market industry and the government, is to demonstrate how vital markets are as a community asset, it also hopes to build affection and support for markets and enhance their status.
Melton’s markets, which the town has benefitted from for centuries, are very popular to this day and traders and customers alike travel from across the country to visit them.
