This is an exciting scheme which will transform the Market Hall and reinforce Chesterfield's famous markets
Chesterfield Borough Council has announced that it is seeking a new construction partner for the refurbishment of the Market Hall, after deciding not to proceed with Wates Construction.
A fresh invitation to tender for the scheme was issued by the Council last week. The project, which was due to start on site in February this year, is now expected to start in late summer.
Councillor John Burrows, Leader of the Borough Council said: “It’s disappointing that we’ve not been able to accept Wates’ tender but ultimately, we could not reach agreement on price.
