Traders move to temporary site as work begins on rebuilding Old Square Shopping Centre
Walsall’s town centre market will move to a temporary site from tomorrow to pave the way for a £21 million shopping centre redevelopment.
A total of 26 traders and three food sellers will be taking up new pitches to clear the way for construction work to begin later this month on the Old Square Shopping Centre.
The rebuilding of the tired shopping centre, which will create 150 jobs, is expected to take just over a year and will see new Co-op and Primark stores open in 2015.
