BUSINESS owners whose shops border Burton’s outdoor market have criticised the council for their lack of communication about plans to revitalise the Market Hall.
They have been sent details of the plans for the indoor market, but are ‘very concerned’ that they have not been given information on the future of the exterior market stalls.
Helen Wheat, owner of Helen’s Bakehouse and Tearoom, said she is disgusted that the council has not consulted with businesses in Market Place about their plans.
She said: “A lot of us are very concerned — we don’t know what will happen in the space at the front of our shops.
