OSWESTRY’S Powis Market Hall was officially re-opened last Wednesday by the eighth Earl of Powis following an upgrade to the facilities which he said would keep the market at the heart of the community.
The indoor market has benefited from a new lift, toilets and wifi internet, as well as new canopys to stalls and signage to welcome shoppers inside.
Improvements have been funded by both the Oswestry Town Council and Shropshire Council after the Market Hall won a nationwide Times newspaper competition to receive a new makeover design from Sir Terence Conran.
