THE Halloween spirit was more that evident at the newly revamped Bantry Friday Market recently.
Local shoppers were treated to a day of Halloween fun with face painting, spooky games and lots of Halloween goodies to eat.
While the traders got used to the newly regulated Friday market, which sees the market traders paying to set up their stalls for the first time, not everybody was happy with the way the popular market is progressing.
“I don’t think five euro per parking space is enough to cover the cost of the clean up that the rate payers of Bantry have to pay for every week when the market traders leave the town in such a mess,” Cllr Pat Bonna Kelly (FF) told Bantry Times.
Cllr Kelly organised a petition against Cork County Council’s proposed pilot scheme in Bantry.
