SWADLINCOTE’S Friday market has now doubled in size with interest from traders as far away as Stoke and Grimsby, it has been revealed.
Record numbers of traders are offering bargain buys and distinctive products at the outdoor market and an average of 25 stalls can be found amid the hustle and bustle every week — more than double that of 18 months ago.
Numbers are also growing on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with up to 17 setting up stalls.
Products available include clothes, accessories, garden furniture, plants, fruit and vegetables, household goods, jewellery, fabric and upholstery.
Bosses, who are receiving queries from traders from as far away as Stoke-on- Trent, Grimsby and Leicester, are delighted with the news.
Market manager Simon Wardle said: “The vibrancy and atmosphere currently on offer at the market is at an all-time high.
