Back in 2009, Portsmouth-born-and-bred Louise Whitmore set out to bridge the gap between independent local traders who didn’t have the finances to sell from brick-and-mortar shopfronts and the buyers who sought the kinds of unique self-made wares they were creating. And thus, the Love Southsea events movement was born.
Now, the markets are expanding to Whiteley Shopping Centre, offering traders both local to Portsmouth and based in the Whiteley area the chance to sell their wares to the thousands of shoppers who pass through the shopping centre under a new Love Whiteley sub-brand.
The first Love Whiteley market is set to take place on March 8th from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and will also play host to a roadshow from Heart FM, entertainment from stilt-walkers, free Love Southsea balloons, and a chance to win some delicious confectionaries from Whiteley’s own Sweets & Treats.
