An extra £140,000 is set to be given to the revamp of a town’s indoor market building.
The additional funding is needed to upgrade and reopen toilets at the 20-year-old complex in Northampton Road, Market Harborough.
The move is to be discussed by the Harborough District Council’s ruling executive on Monday.
A year ago, the council agreed to spend £410,000 on upgrading the building, following a popular campaign to keep the venue open.
The decision came after the council abandoned a scheme to offer the building to a high-profile retailer. However, it chose to implement the cheaper of two options put forward by independent consultants, which also said £600,000 could have been spent.
