A CAMPAIGN for market traders to return to their historic home is gathering pace.
Millom town councillor Brian Crawford supports the move for traders to be based at Market Square in Millom – and he is asking fellow elected members to back the idea.
A small group of stall holders who set up Millom’s new market in the car park of Tesco on a Monday, have called on Copeland Borough Council to allow them to relocate to Market Square.
Traders would like to make Monday a traditional market day at the venue.
The borough council would have to give the go ahead for the market to be run in Market Square.
Cllr Crawford said: “At next week’s Millom Town Council meeting I will be bringing the market up and I will be asking the council to support the concept and write to Copeland Borough Council about it.
