Bristol’s BIG Market will return for the 3rd year running this June with over 150 stalls, street performers and live music taking over the historic streets of Bristol’s Old City as one of the highlight events of the Big Green Week.
Following the success of the event over the last 2 years, organisers Sophie Bowden and David Pyne have programmed a host of local food and drink producers, makers, artists, musicians and designers to take part in this lively event located in central Bristol.
Returning this year will be Mullion Cove’s Best of the South West food and drink area at the heart of the market in Corn Street, local street food collective BEATS will have a dedicated area in St Stephen’s Street as well as Bristol Fairtrade in Clare Street, vintage and retro in Marsh Street, arts and crafts in Small Street and charities and organisations in St Stephen’s Avenue. Expect local buskers, artists and street performers to liven up the busy streets as well as two live music stages being programmed by Mr Wolfs and the Big Chill Bar.
Last year saw over 10,000 visitors to the market with the Old City being brought alive with the hustle and bustle of so many people perusing the market stalls, listening to the live music and filling their bellies full of the finest local produce!
Plus this year you can use your Bristol’s Pounds at the market as all of our stall holders will be accepting our local currency! So why not buy local, support local and invest local!
Food and drink producers already confirmed include market regulars,Winnies Bakery, Wiltshire Chilli Company, Whitelake Cheese, Severn Cider and local favourites such as Guilberts Chocolates and Great Western Brewery. Expect exciting street food from BEATS, locally made jewellery, pottery, art, upcycled products, Bristol fair-trade stalls, organic body care products, vintage and retro items, hand carved wood products, local charities and organisations all being part of this yearly event.
With such a wide choice of local sourced food, drink and crafts and an assortment of other interesting stalls and live entertainment, Bristol’s BIG market makes for a great family day out.
Lead organiser Sophie Bowden says:
“We have a truly fantastic line up of stalls for this year’s Big Market, and we’re really looking forward to showcasing some of the best producers from Bristol and the region, such as organic venison burgers from Bath Organic Farms and hand made furniture from Workshop Interiors who are based in Radstock”.
Event manager David Pyne adds:
“As well as all the amazing stalls, there’s lots more to the event as well – with outdoor live music stages, walkabout entertainment and art installations. It’s going to be an exciting day with a vibrant market and festival atmosphere!”
The market will take place on Saturday 21 June in Corn Street and the surrounding streets from 11am – 6pm.
