Thirty two new blue and white units replaced the previous stalls from the farmers market on Saturday in White Lion Square.
The stalls are funded from Hatfield’s Portas Pilot windfall, which last year saw campaigners awarded £100,000 to revamp the town centre.
Officials are waiting for a further 28 units – and it is hoped all stalls in the Market Place will have been replaced by the next farmers’ market in May.
Carrie Lloyd, clerk at Hatfield Town Council, said she approved of the changes.
She said: “I think they are brilliant and its nice to see the town centre look cheerful.”
