WORLD class chef Michel Roux Jr is urging other high profile restaurateurs to champion local produce as he becomes patron of Kent Farmers’ Market Association.
The two star Michelin chef, famous for his London restaurant Le Gavroche and his appearance on BBC’s Masterchef, was in Shipbourne last week getting a taste of what farmers’ markets in the garden of England have to offer.
The 53-year-old is not a stranger to the village, having been born in Pembury in 1960 and brought up on the Fairlawne Estate until he was seven years old.
He spoke to the Courier on Thursday about his new role championing Kentish growers and producers.
