Sittingbourne market could be heading to the High Street as part of regeneration plans.
The proposal, unveiled at the local engagement forum, is for a two-day operation on Fridays and Saturdays from next year.
It will mean moving it from its current location at the Forum car park.
The new site will start outside Wilkinson and depending on popularity, could stretch as far as the entrance to Central Avenue.
The High Street would close to traffic between 6am and 6pm on both days.
Speaking at Monday night’s meeting, Lyn Newton, Swale council’s economy and community services manager, said the proposed site was one of seven considered for a new outdoor trading spot.
