The Nailsea Farmers’ and Craft Market is held every third Saturday of the month and shops report a huge boost in footfall at these events.
Town leaders and councillors are now hoping to put on new markets to further boost shops in the area.
Nailsea Town Council clerk Ian Morrell said: “The aspiration would be to have a market every Saturday in Nailsea, but it’s very difficult to achieve.
“There’s absolutely no question that we get a lot of extra footfall in the town on the third Saturday of the month, which is the other reason we would like to see more markets in the town.
“Even the Tuesday markets bring more people in.
