TRADERS at Bolton’s outdoor market — which opened for the first time on Tuesday — have given a mixed reaction to their new home.
Some businesses are delighted with their new location and said they have already seen new faces among shoppers.
But other long-standing stallholders were moved from the indoor hall a year ago before it was revamped, were being housed in the temporary cabins and say they were allocated new stalls only days before the move.
And some traders from the old indoor hall — such as Christine’s Nightwear and Underwear and Janet’s Books — had applied for a place in the “lifestyle hall”, opened by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer on February 14, but claim they were overlooked in favour of new businesses in a competitive application process.
