A FORMER Salisbury mayor has dropped herself in hot water by calling Salisbury’s market traders “miserable” and “belligerent” at a public meeting.
Cllr Bobbie Chettleburgh, who has served as the city’s mayor twice in the past ten years as well as sitting on the now defunct market traders liaison panel, made the comments at a Salisbury CityCouncil meeting last Monday.
Market Trader and fellow city councillor Ian Tomes has called for her resignation following the outburst. He said: “This is a horrible thing to say and many traders and I’m sure the thousands of locals and tourists who visit our market each week as customers will also find it deeply offensive.
