Sep 18, 2013 Peter Rabbit Press Releases Comments Off on Halloween at Ashton Court Producers Market
Ashton Court Halloween producers market returns again this year on Sunday 27 October for spooky fun, foodie treats and even a dog fancy dress competition!
Regular Ashton Court market goers will notice that this date doesn’t fall on the usual Sunday when the market is normally held (the third Sunday of the month) as it is an extra market to celebrate things All Hallows Eve!
Dog treat stall owners Daisy Nose Best and local dog charity Greyhound Rescue West of England (GRWE) will be teaming up together to host a special fancy dress competition – one with dogs and all in the spirit of Halloween. Bring your dogs to the market and see whether it wins a prize! Competition categories include best Halloween fancy dress, best scary old timer, most adorable puppy and best howler. Registration into to the dog competition is £2 with £1 a category and all proceeds going to GRWE. The dog competition will take place at 1pm with registration in the stables courtyard from 10.30am.
As well as the usual market stalls and dog competition, there will be lots to do and see including gruesome face painting, horrid ghost stories, tarot reading and apple bobbing so make sure you come down and join in the family fun – you’d be a ghoul to miss it!
Market stall holders will be dressed in frightening fancy dress and will be making extra efforts to serve up terrifying but tasty treats including pumpkin soup, coffin dodger brownies, locally grown organic squashes and pumpkins and Halloween themed biscuits. Usual market fare will be served up by Cowshill Farm, Everything Bagels, Pizza Monkey, Pure Fudge, Snowdrop Cottage, Severn Cider, Lovett Pies, New Bristol Brewery, James Food Dips, Wicked Chilli and much more. Local crafts, beauty products and flowers will also be available.
But be warned, if you decide to go for a stroll around the estate after your visit to the market, be careful not to bump into the ghostly headless horseman that reputedly haunts the grounds of the estate….!
Ashton Court Halloween Producers Market will take place on Sunday 27 October in the stables courtyard from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
