THE Farmers Market which has been running in Forres for nearly three years is to take a break.
Carin Schwartz from Transition Town Forres confirmed that the market has been put on the back burner for the time being.
“Farmers’ markets will take a break for a while due to lack of customers,” she said. “We will reassess the situation in the spring.”
Market organiser, Anne Marie Skidamore, declined to comment, but it is believed that the decision was taken at the board meeting of Transition Town Forres in January. Mrs Skidamore has overall responsibility for erecting stalls for the monthly market, but has had to rely on the help of a dwindling group of volunteers to do so.
