The farmers’ market in Tunbridge Wells – which lost its home in Civic Way as redevelopment of council buildings gets underway – will open at its new location with a launch party next Saturday. (March 9)
Now called the Tunbridge Wells Independent Farmers’ Market, the twice monthly event between 9am and 4pm will be run by a trio of stallholders and not the borough council.
Its new home is Market Square, an under-used space seemingly purpose-built for outdoor events which is behind the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre. Centre owner British Land stepped in to provide the new l ocation after the market closed in January and told us it has plans to boost the use of the square.
