Lambeth’s street and indoor markets will be celebrated during Love Your Local Market fortnight, which started on Saturday.
To mark the national campaign, which aims to promote markets and their importance to the local economy, Lambeth Council has waived pitch charges for all Lambeth registered casual traders on National Market Day (today) and pitch fees for registered permanent traders for one week.
It is also offering trader workshops for people who are considering taking up street trading.
And on Sunday, Herne Hill will have a new community led market on Railton Road, which will sell locally sourced produce and crafts to local residents and visitors.
