Doubt over the future of Keighley’s street markets
Bradford Council has been accused of “not being interested in Keighley” after it was revealed funding could be axed for the town’s popular street markets.
The organisers of the weekly farmers market in Wells are worried that they are about to be kicked off their pitch.
Plans to introduce a new Sunday market in Frome town centre and to inject more cash into the existing twice weekly markets has won approval from the town and Mendip District councils.
Improvements to Frome market could include stall holders linking up with the Artisan market once a month.
The first stage of consultation for the Frome Market project came to an end last Friday with just over 370 mixed responses.
