There’s a creative buzz in the air around Stockport town centre and its getting stronger now that the town has been chosen by Mary Portas as one of the 12 Pilots in the Government’s High Street Revival Scheme.
Teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt have been helping to breathe new energy and creativity back into their home town with their innovative ideas for the regeneration of the Market and Underbanks area of Stockport.
Their ideas for the town have been featured in the national press and on BBC, ITV and Sky News, which included a personal thumbs up from Local Government Minister Grant Shapps.
19-year-old Joe Barratt, who filmed and presented Stockport’s Portas Pilot video which Mary Portas herself described as “young and fearless” is a student at Manchester University and runs Screen Stockport Film Festival.
