Ostrich and kangaroo burgers will be just some of the products on offer at Newhaven’s new twice weekly street market, which will feature around 18 stalls.
The market will open on Saturday August 10 thanks to a £10,000 grant from the Mary Portas scheme and has been organised by Newhaven Chamber of Commerce.
It is hoped the market will help attract more people to the town centre and help revive the High Street, which has suffered from low numbers of shoppers and empty shop units during the recession.
Newhaven Chamber of Commerce president Annie Lorys said: “The market is great news for Newhaven – the Chamber feels very positive about it.
