New weekly market to open in Greenford Broadway

The market has been welcomed by councillors and shoppers who hope it will attract more people to the area

Traders are getting ready to pitch up in Greenford next week in what it is hoped will become a regular bustling street market.

Stallholders, who will set up shop in Greenford Broadway on Mondasy and Thursdays, and later on Saturdays, will be launched by the Ealing Mayor, John Gallagher, next Thursday (15).

The market has been welcomed by councillors and shoppers who hope it will attract more people to the area and boost the local economy.

Ealing Council leader and Greenford Broadway councillor Julian Bell said: “This is an exciting opportunity to boost trade in Greenford by attracting shoppers.

“We have been careful to select market stalls selling goods to complement, not compete with, existing Greenford shops.

“We are also exploring ideas about how community groups and young people will be able to use the market when it opens on a Saturday.”
