A PLAN to use Burton’s Market Hall as a night-time enterainment venue ‘do not take into account car parking and alcohol licensing issues,’ stallholders have claimed.
Burton’s outdoor market stallholders have submitted their own proposals for the indoor facilities, which will be revamped at part of East Staffordshire Borough Council’s multi-million pound plans to regenerate the town centre.
However, council bosses say the rival proposals are being ‘pushed through by four traders, not the whole market.’ It is believed that new plans to move the outdoor traders to Station Street will be rubber-stamped at a meeting of the council’s cabinet on August 13.
However, the outdoor fruit and vegetable stalls will be moving inside the ailing Market Hall, which has left traders concerned.
