ALDERSHOT’S Thursday market could be moved out of the town centre, with shop owners describing it as a hindrance to their businesses.
Those in charge of managing the town centre said this week that a survey is being prepared to gauge interest in making alterations to the weekly market in Union Street and Wellington Street.
One of the changes being proposed could see it being moved to a different location.
Town centre manager Dave Phillips described the market as ‘love it or hate it’. He added he was aware of some of the negative feeling towards it from nearby shop traders.
“People have mixed opinions on the market, and the feeling appears to be very mixed among retailers,” he said.
